National Workforce Planner
Sydney International Airport

 

dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel and flight catering services across five continents. With over 60 years of experience, we offer a full range of services to our Airline customers - Passenger and Customer Services, Ramp activities and Cargo handling in all major airports around Australia. 

 

Our Ground Services team has an exciting opportunity for a highly resourceful and passionate National Workforce Planner whom will report directly to the National Workforce Planning Manager. This role is a full-time position and will have a national scope.  This is role plays pivotal role in delivering operational planning and analysis within dnata Australia’s Ground Handling.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining and adjusting seasonal plans based on flight schedules and feedback from stakeholders on a weekly basis, adhering to strict timelines within a structured planning framework
  • Manage workforce supply reductions including administration of the leave process and collaboration with training teams
  • Optimising staff schedules and rosters to maximise efficiency and utilisation while ensuring delivery of safe and reliable operations
  • Assisting with scenario modelling and analysis for stakeholders to support financial, commercial, and operational decision making
  • Tracking availability and efficiency of resourcing at all ports, identifying issues with supply of staff and proposing appropriate mitigations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve planning systems and process to drive a culture of planning excellence

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, finance or related discipline OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in operational resource planning preferably in an aviation, transport or related discipline
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex operational and planning concepts for a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse planning or operational data and present insights in an engaging way
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and managing competing priorities and stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Ability to meet aviation security and safety requirements

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Experience using GroundStar and Plano schedule and rostering platforms
  • Proficiency in Power BI or other Business Intelligence platforms
