More about the role:

We are looking for a talented P&C Partner who will thrive in a fast paced, complex environment where no two days are the same. You see every challenge as an opportunity to learn, you love to be hands on and are considered a trusted coach and problem solver, then this role is for you. 

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Partnership & coaching of Leaders and their teams
  • Identify key HR opportunities and people management risks;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders from senior people leaders, Unions, delegates and employees, advising and coaching them, recommending appropriate actions, sharing knowledge and influencing action;
  • Provide timely operational support, advice and guidance to people leaders across the business on all people related matters;
  • Work with the Director of People and Culture to facilitate and build the businesses’ capability for change and people leaders’ capability to effectively manage people during times of transformational change;
  • Report on and analyse key people metrics for the business;
  • Be a key advocate in ensuring consistent and disciplined application of policies, standards, guidelines, tools and frameworks and knowledge sharing;
  • Partner with various key stakeholders across the business including safety, IR, Training and HR to ensure the highest level of compliance and employee engagement;
  • Gather insights on to inform the design and roll out of National P&C initiatives;
  • Drive a consistent employee experience of National people initiatives at a site level;
  • Build the capability of leaders to drive annual people processes;
  • Support leaders in Performance and Conduct Management g. performance improvement plans, absenteeism, investigation and disciplinary processes;
  • Cultivating a culture of achievement, decisive action, and effective collaboration;
  • Stay informed about employment legislation and regulations to ensure compliance;
  • Participate in projects as required.

 

What you need to be successful:

  • Proven experience as a HR/P&C Business Partner or HR/P&C Manager for a medium sized company
  • Experience with blue collar and unionised workforce
  • Well-developed ER & IR skills
  • Understanding of key HR/P&C principles and practices (e.g. as initially gained through tertiary HR qualifications).
  • Proven experience in business improvement and rolling out policies and procedures
  • Proven and strong experience with liaising with senior stakeholders and ability to sustain effective working relationships across the business
  • Proven skills in defining, prioritising and organising tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyse and resolve complex problems which may require the involvement of multiple stakeholders
  • Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a consultative manner and interact confidently with high levels of initiative.
  • Track record in successfully delivering key HR initiatives.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ generalist experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human resources or related discipline.
  • Willing to and able to travel as required
  • Postgraduate studies in Human Resources and/or Industrial Relations (desirable)
