Procurement Officer

dnata, one of the world's largest air services providers, offering a wide range of ground handling, cargo, travel and flight catering services across five continents, is excited to announce a new opportunity within our Procurement team.

 

We are seeking a motivated Procurement Officer to join us as we embark on a major transformation of our procurement system. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to support the implementation of our new procurement processes, ensuring compliance, efficiency and continuous improvement in our operations.

 

You will play a key role in helping guide staff, maintain accurate records and optimise procurement activities to drive smart, cost-effective decisions within dnata Australia.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Process Support: Guide and assist staff through each stage of the procurement process, ensuring timely and accurate execution. Help colleagues understand and follow procurement policies and procedures.
  • Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure that procurement activities adhere to internal policies and external regulations. Maintain accurate documentation and records to facilitate smooth auditing processes.
  • Process Optimisation: Work with the Procurement Manager to help streamline processes and improve the overall procurement system. Assist in minimising discrepancies during audits by supporting adherence to best practices.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with various teams to ensure procurement decisions align with business goals. Provide feedback and offer support to help staff members effectively use the new procurement system.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Help colleagues understand the new systems as they are implemented and provide ongoing support to ensure smooth transitions.

 Essential Criteria:

  • 2-5 years of experience in supporting procurement activities or related fields
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and practices
  • Highly organised with an ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with a supportive and approachable attitude towards colleagues
  • Strong skills in MS Office and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software
  • Able to identify issues and work towards practical solutions independently and in a team setting
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce or a related field is preferred
