We are looking for someone to join our Accounts Payable Team, as an Accounts Payable Manager! This role will be based at Mascot, only a 7 minute walk from Mascot station and will be required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week (2 days working from home) and will report directly to the Finance Manager.

The position is responsible for the integrity of the Purchase Order/Accounts Payable processes by ensuring invoices are processed accurately and timely.

 

The position is a leadership role and must build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external and drive continuous improvement initiatives to deliver efficiencies in the Accounts Payable processes.

 

 

Primary duties and responsibilities 

  • Supervise the work of the Team ensuring compliance with legislation, accounting policy and standards;
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing and payment of supplier invoices;
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect integrity of costs being recorded;
  • Ensure Purchase Order compliance and internal controls are maintained and followed as per Dnata Policy.
  • Liaise and build relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders;
  • Drive improvement initiatives in the AP process including related upstream and downstream processes;
  • Provide a high standard of customer service for both internal/external customers;
  • Coach, mentor and train members of the accounts payable team; and
  • Adhoc duties as required

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience as Accounts Payable Team Lead in a similar size organisation;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, coach, supervise and motivate teams;
  • Possess a customer service focus and display professionalism towards both internal and external customers at all times;
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and practices;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Excellent computer skills, advanced skills in MS Excel ;
  • Well-developed communications skills and the ability to stay patient, negotiate and proactively solve problems’ and
  • Ability to prioritise, with excellent time management skills.
