Environment and Sustainability Manager

Our Safety division is currently on the lookout for an Environment & Sustainability Manager to join our team.

As an Environment & Sustainability Manager, you will lead sustainability and environmental strategies across dnata Airport Operations Australia, including Cabin Services Australia, Wymap Transport and Head Office locations. You’ll drive decarbonisation initiatives, ensure compliance and strong governance frameworks, maintain audit-ready environmental systems, and align local operations with global dnata and Emirates Group ESG commitments—shaping a more sustainable future for aviation nationwide.

About you and the role:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of dnata's environmental and sustainability management frameworks, aligned to global dnata/Emirates Group standards.
  • Provide expert analysis on environmental risks, regulatory requirements, climate related impacts, and operational implications.
  • Function as the focal point for sustainability governance, ensuring alignment with emerging regulatory frameworks including ASRS and ESRS.
  • Monitor Australian environmental regulatory developments and advise leadership on compliance requirements.
  • Deliver sustainability initiatives such as fleet electrification, energy efficiency upgrades, waste and water reduction programs, renewable energy sourcing, and green building improvements.
  • Lead environmental projects including recycling programs, waste optimisation, and resource efficiency initiatives.
  • Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental and sustainability performance data, ensuring high quality and audit ready disclosures.
  • Manage dnata's Environmental Management System, including impacts & aspects registers, influence registers, and annual review cycles.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs and sustainability indicators for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other environmental, sustainability, or compliance duties as directed by the Safety Director.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Science or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental management, sustainability, climate risk, or similar roles within aviation or complex operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks, and environmental management systems.
  • Knowledge of ASRS, ESRS, climate risk, decarbonisation principles, and ESG standards
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • High level proficiency MS Office Suite.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in sustainability, environmental management, climate risk or related discipline. (desirable)
  • Experience managing ESG reporting, sustainability governance, or environmental strategy in aviation or logistics environments.(desirable)
