dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel and flight catering services across five continents. We are on the look out for a Credit Officer to join our all encompassing Finance Team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position is responsible for the timely collection of all outstanding invoices on the accounts receivable ledger as well as ensuring to mitigate risk of bad debt. You will be responsible for building relationships with both internal and external customers as well as contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance overall team efficiency. A day in the life: Collections: - Ensure timely collections and minimise levels of overdues;
- Ensure to maintain a clean ledger through timely reconciliations and resolution of all aged items;
- Minimise overall risk of bad debts;
- Timely application of escalation process to improve collections;
- Ensure adherence to authority matrix and company policies at all times;
- Ad-hoc duties as required.
Customer Experience & Process Improvement: - Listen to/follow up/resolve customer queries in a timely manner;
- Participate in invoicing accuracy improvement initiatives;
- Establish strong relationships with Finance counterparts through regular interaction and customer visits;
- Assist in timely resolution of disputes;
- Drive standardisation where possible and adherence to SOP;
- Identify and drive further efficiencies in own, functional or upstream/downstream processes;
- Supports and reflects company commitment to quality accreditation, environmental consciousness and a safe work environment;
- Ad hoc duties as required.
To succeed in this role, you will need: - Proven experience in collections demonstrating ability to deliver results;
- Possess a customer service focus and display professionalism towards both internal and external customers at all times;
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Excellent computer skills, advanced skills in MS Excel;
- Well developed communications skills and the ability to stay patient, negotiate and proactively solve problems;
- The ability to prioritise, with excellent time management skills; and
- Be a team player who can also work independently
