Accounts Payable Officer

dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel and flight catering services across five continents.

 

We're currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

 

A day in the life:

 

  • Maintaining and monitoring the invoices along with database entry of invoices and tracking the payments;
  • Verifying invoices from suppliers, authorize & approve for payments;
  • Ensuring correct accounting for GST on services provided;
  • Reconciliation of the direct debit, bank accounts, and financial accounts;
  • Completion of allocated Balance Sheet reconciliations within agreed timeframes;
  • Analytical review by aging analysis and ratio analysis;
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and other reports;
  • Coordinating the daily bank reconciliation across multiple bank accounts & cash-flow analysis;
  • The month-end close off process including preparing and posting journal entries for revenue & expense accruals;
  • Assisting in the preparation of taxation returns, BAS and payroll tax;
  • Assisting in financial forecasting and risk analysis and troubleshooting cash flow problems;
  • Ensuring the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements;
  • Maintaining internal control systems and assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies

To succeed in the role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounts payable role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A high level of proficiency in the use of Excel, as well as financial modelling experience (this will be vital to your success)
  • Positive can do attitude and willingness to go above and beyond
  • Sense of humour (essential!!)
