OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

 

As the National Workforce Analyst / Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing National Resource Planning activities across Australia. This role plays a pivotal part in operational planning by effectively positioning resources to achieve excellence in customer service. Additionally, you will contribute significantly to budget planning/control and improving operational effectiveness.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Resource Planning and Strategy

  • Assist the National Workforce Planning Manager in all resource planning activities across Australia.
  • Gather and analyse data to support the development of resource requirement scenarios for long-term and expansion plans.
  • Research and propose options for optimising resource deployment and contribute to budget planning discussions.
  • Collaborate with the Training department to identify resource needs and support the development of optimised training plans.

 

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for enhancing operational effectiveness through system reviews, improved rosters, cross-utilisation and process re-engineering.
  • Assist in planning and executing process improvement projects under the manager's guidance.
  • Analyse data and present findings to support consultations regarding improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and test procedures for utilising systems for resource planning and allocation.
  • Support the training of staff on system functionalities relevant to their roles.

 

Central Planning & Resource Management

  • Establish and manage processes for analysing and evaluating manpower, focusing on operational efficiency, leave management, training, attendance and overtime.
  • Contribute to the development and preparation of resource-related statistics and analysis reports for senior management decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and execution of simulation projects to assess operational capacity and potential bottlenecks.

 

Team Support

  • Support the Local Roster Team in weekly roster publishing across all ground handling locations.
  • Ensure service level targets are attained through proactive rostering and cost control discussions.
  • Assist the National Workforce Planning Manager in leading the central planning team, ensuring efficient and value-adding support functions.
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of people-related processes like attendance, leave, training nominations and performance management.

 

 ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years' experience in operational Resource Planning or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Understanding of Enterprise Agreements and the Awards
  • Experience with implementing new operational systems
  • Experience of Workforce Planning with the GroundStar system.
