National Workforce Planning Manager

We’re on the lookout for a dynamic and driven National Workforce Planning Manager to join our high-flying team at dnata. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of leading and overseeing all aspects of resource planning across our Australian operations.

 

Playing a pivotal part in shaping the organization’s approach to workforce and equipment deployment, ensuring alignment with our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

 

The role in a Nutshell:

The successful candidate will contribute to the broader operational strategy by effectively positioning resources to meet both current and future business needs. This includes developing resource requirement scenarios to support long-term growth and expansion plans and providing strategic recommendations to senior management.

 

A key focus of the role is enhancing budget control and financial accountability. The job holder will manage the resource-related components of the operational budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost efficiency, and alignment with financial targets. They will identify opportunities to optimize resource utilization while maintaining service quality and operational readiness.

 

In addition to strategic planning, the role involves day-to-day oversight of resource deployment, ensuring smooth operations across all locations. The Head of Resource Planning will also collaborate closely with the Training department to ensure resource availability is aligned with training schedules, supporting workforce capability and development.

 

This is a leadership role requiring strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, data-driven, and passionate about driving continuous improvement in resource management.

 

Key Criteria we're looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational resource planning across multiple states and territories.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting Enterprise Agreements and National Awards.
  • Leadership experience and commitment to driving operational excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills well suited to building business relationships with existing and potential customers and managing all internal as well as external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Demonstrated business acumen including, financial and budget management and a need for analytical skills and experience in driving cultural change and continuous business improvement to meet and exceed customer and business expectations and targets;
  • Previous experience in or knowledge of airline industry principles and ideally with operational experience but not essential;
  • Previous extensive experience in a highly controlled and regulated industry with the ability to lead, translate, implement and manage ongoing compliance, industry standards and legislative requirements
  • Engaging and building the trust of key stakeholders with a strong desire to delight customers and delivering service excellence whilst balancing the challenges of being performance driven.
  • Strong understanding of Resource Management Systems
