Subject Matter Expert - SME Ramp Operations
Melbourne Airport, VIC

The purpose of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) is to deliver training, conduct assessments within a specific subject area to both new and existing staff and partake in the formal buddy training program. This may be achieved through a combination of operational functions and administrative procedures.

 

When acting in the role of SME your responsibility is in addition to your current role. You will be supporting the training team by delivering content specific training programmes in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Ramp & Baggage Training Manager.

 

Position Overview:

Communication

  • Communicate regularly with the training team on issues relating to training requirements, outcomes, resources, personal development, and other issues relating to the specified subjects.
  • Provide feedback on training processes, materials and assist in developing new material/resources.
  • Build and maintain rapport with both new and existing team members.

Training

  • Ensure all SME Training is conducted as required in a professional manner in accordance with local port requirements and dnata National Curriculum, utilising only approved training resources, as directed by the Ramp & Baggage Training Manager
  • Conduct classroom and on the job training and carry out competency assessment as directed by the Ramp & Baggage Training Manager
  • Ensure dnata training standards are upheld throughout the conduct of training and evaluate upon completion.
  • Ensure that all required training documentation is completed and submitted in accordance with dnata National Curriculum and airline customer requirements.

Compliance

  • SMEs are to liaise with the training team when conducting training to ensure requirements are compliant, airline customer specific and all materials are current.
  • Ability to hold a current ASIC.
  • Must hold a current VIC drivers’ licence.

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualified and experienced in specified subject matter pertaining to the ramp environment.
  • Ability and willingness to deliver dnata training and assessment as per curriculum requirements.
  • Ability to contribute to follow and provide feedback on training plans.
  • Complete dnata’s internal Subject Matter Course and complete assessment
  • Ideally candidate to hold a Cert IV in Training and Assessment – TAE40116 but not essential
